Collection: Calvin Orr Springtime Trunk Show - 2/3/21

We just featured beautiful lampwork glass beads LIVE! Many of you know that my bead-dad, Calvin Orr, makes beautiful lampwork beads. (I'm his biggest fan and collector!) We started making these together over 20 years ago, and while I stopped lampworking... he kept going and making them prettier and prettier!!

So what makes a glass bead considered lampwork? I'm glad you asked!!! Lampworking is a type of glasswork in which a torch (or lamp) is used to melt the glass. The molten glass is then formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand, with the designs being carefully created with additional materials to add color and design! This technique is used to create not only beads but figurines, artwork, marbles, ornaments, etc!!!

Lampworking is used to create artwork, including beads, figurines, marbles, small vessels, Christmas tree ornaments, and much more! We might be partial, but we especially love them as beads.

Please enjoy these amazing works of love and talent from my bead-dad and other artists!
