This one came straight from customer demand — everyone who saw it in the store asked how to make it. A large paperclip chain necklace with black agate beads wire-wrapped onto the links. The oversized chain does most of the work visually, and the agate adds weight and drama without overcomplicating the design.

What You Need
Paperclip chain has those long, elongated oval links — it's been a huge trend in jewelry and it works beautifully for beaded designs because the links give you plenty of room to attach wire-wrapped dangles. The long links also make great layering pieces on their own.

The key technique here is a basic wire-wrapped loop to attach each bead to the chain. If you're new to wire wrapping or want a refresher on getting clean, consistent loops, check out our Basic Wire Wrap tutorial on YouTube. Once you've got the loop down, this project comes together fast.
Three Looks, One Necklace
Here's the best part — by hooking the clasp to different points along the chain, you get three completely different looks from the same piece:

Full length for a statement piece, doubled up for a chunkier collar, or asymmetric with the beads clustered to one side. One necklace, three moods.
Come in and we'll set you up with the chain, agate, and wire — and if you want, we'll walk you through the first couple of loops right at the counter.
