A palm stone is exactly what it sounds like — a flat, polished crystal shaped to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. They're usually oval, about two to three inches across, smooth on both sides, and heavy enough to feel grounding when you hold one.
Palm Stones vs. Tumbled Stones
People ask about this a lot. Tumbled stones are small — usually under an inch — and rounded by being tumbled in a machine with grit. Palm stones are larger, intentionally shaped and polished flat. The difference matters because the flat shape gives you more surface contact with the stone. When you close your hand around one, almost your entire palm touches it. That's the whole point.
They're also different from worry stones, which have a thumb-sized indent carved into them. Palm stones are smooth all the way across.
How to Use Them
There's no wrong way, but here are the most common:
- Meditation — hold one in each hand or place one in your lap while you sit. The weight and coolness of the stone give your mind something physical to anchor to.
- Pocket carry — keep one in your pocket or bag for the day. Reach for it when you need a moment of calm or a reset.
- Body placement — lay one on your chest, forehead, or stomach during relaxation. The flat shape stays put.
- Just holding it — sometimes you just need something cool and smooth in your hand while you think, talk, or work through something.
Choosing Your Stone
Pick the one that draws you. Seriously — walk up to the display, look them over, and pick up the one your hand reaches for. That instinct is usually right.

Apatite — a striking blue-green stone associated with clarity, new perspectives, and transformative ideas. It's the stone you reach for when you're starting something new or trying to see a situation differently.
Labradorite — gray on the surface until it catches the light, then it flashes with blue, gold, and green. It's associated with intuition and bringing a sense of magic back into your daily life. Labradorite palm stones are especially beautiful because the flat surface gives that flash of color maximum room to show.
