Sandalwood is one of those beads you can smell before you even open the bag — warm, earthy, and calming. It's one of the most prized woods in the world and has been used for centuries in meditation, prayer beads, and mala necklaces.
This particular sandalwood has a light tan, beige tone — softer and lighter than the golden brown you sometimes see. The color could be because of the area where the wood is harvested in the tree — outer heartwood tends to be lighter, while inner heartwood is deeper and richer. A lighter color doesn't mean less quality — it's still fragrant, still real sandalwood, just a softer palette. A lot of our customers actually prefer this tone because it pairs more neutrally with lighter stones and pastels, which is why we use it in our pikake lei necklace kits.
These 6mm rounds are lightweight, naturally fragrant, and beautiful on their own or paired with gemstones.
