Lucky October babies have the MOST colorful two birthstones: TOURMALINE AND OPAL!
Tourmaline is the most colorful of all gemstones. It occurs in all colors, but pink, red, green, blue and multicolored are its most well-known gem colors. Opal is a most mesmerizing stone and also comes in different colors, from white to black with flashes of blue, yellow, green, orange and red. We have both tourmalines in multi colors, and opals in the store, and we love them both! Jason, JoAnn and I even had the chance to mine tourmalines in San Diego at the Ocean View Mine, and got a lot of raw tourmalines as well as a chunk of aquamarine and lots of lepidolite and mica :) Watch our Gemstone Mining in San Diego with The Bead Gallery, Honolulu video here!
