We Love Our Moms at The Bead Gallery!

It's Mother's Day on May 14, and we're so excited to celebrate our moms with you! You see, many of us here at The Bead Gallery have been blessed with some pretty incredible moms. They've been there no matter what life has thrown at us—and we know they'll continue to be our source of inspiration as we navigate through life.

To celebrate Mother's Day and some of the special moms in our lives, we decided to reminisce about the stories and moments that have shaped the way we view our moms. By sharing them with you, maybe you'll get a better look at the special women in your life as well!

Jamie: On this special occasion of Mother's Day, I want to celebrate the amazing woman who is my mom. She's like a combination of Santa Claus, Red Cross, and the Salvation Army, all rolled up into one creatively crazy lady. From making delicious food and crafting beautiful items to growing her own plants and raising earthworms, my mom is always busy with something new and exciting. I am inspired by her creativity and dedication, and her unwavering love and support has been a constant in my life. She knows me inside out, including my strengths and weaknesses, and loves me unconditionally. The best part is, as I grow older, I find myself emulating her in many ways, both good and naughty. It's a beautiful cycle of life, where I see the same traits and values being passed down through generations. So, on this Mother's Day, I want to thank my mom for being my guiding light, my source of inspiration, and my role model. Her love and care are the greatest gifts of my life, and I cherish every moment with her. Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there!

Jason: One summer day when he was around 10 years old, my mom accidentally ran over my foot (ooops!) with the car as she was leaving for work. But to everyone's relief, I wasn't hurt, and we both ended up laughing about it. Now, years later, we still remember that funny moment. It's a testament to the special bond we share, full of love and warmth. Let's take this Mother's Day to cherish our moms and show them how much we appreciate everything they do for us, whether it's funny memories or something more profound. Happy Mother's Day!

Nancy:  I have the best mommy in the world. She is extremely selfless because she dedicated her entire life to her family. She is also the most generous and caring person I know. I love her more than she'll ever know.

Chai:  My mom is one of the most uniquely fashionable people in the world—and I mean that in the best way possible. No matter what she wears, she simply looks amazing. She's seriously got more outfit changes than Madonna or Cher combined! Although some days she looks like a rainbow threw up on her, everything seems to work so well together. I don't know how she does it! Her sense of style definitely rubbed off on me—I think that's why I'm so obsessed with color and texture now. When I moved home during Covid to be closer to my mom and dad, I realized how much time we'd been spending apart without even realizing it. Not only was it great being able to spend more time with them, but just being around made me feel better about myself. I've always looked up to my parents for their confidence, strength, and independence—and seeing those qualities in them again gave me a boost in all those areas too! So Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there—and if you're reading this blog post from somewhere far away from your mom on this day, remember: Your mom loves you and wants you close!

Ivana: Always in movement, energetic, and optimistic - three attributes that describe a woman who raised, supported, and surrounded me with loving care and incredible energy. The crown of our bond is her grandson- a 5-year-old boy who is her universe and the center of the world. From his first hours of life until now, for 5 years, she was there for all questions and clarifications, as woman to woman, as mother to mother. Thank you for the incredible energy and love you are carrying and spreading in our lives. Love you, you know how much.

Analou:  My mom is the most selfless person I know, constantly putting the needs of our family before her own. And truly an inspiration and amazing Mama! Jose: I remember that summer evening in Taipei vividly. My mom and I were walking down the bustling streets of the Shilin Night Market, taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of the market. As we passed by a stall selling betel nut, I couldn't resist the urge to try it and convinced my mom to join me. We popped the small red nuts in our mouths and chewed. My mom made a face and said it tasted bitter, but then after a while something strange happened. She started giggling uncontrollably and swaying side to side. "I think I'm getting high!" she exclaimed, causing me to burst out laughing. Feeling mischievous, I decided to up the ante and dared her to try stinky tofu. She took one whiff and immediately regretted her decision. The smell was overwhelming, and she couldn't even bring herself to take a bite. We both laughed so hard that tears streamed down our faces. That night, as we made our way back to our place, we couldn't stop reminiscing about our hilarious adventure at the night market. It was a memory we would cherish forever, and we still laugh about it to this day.
