Pineapple "bodies" Handmade in Hawaii by 'our' bead-dad, Calvin Orr!
The pineapple is a rich symbol with various meanings across cultures. It is widely recognized as a symbol of hospitality, warmth, and welcome, tracing back to its introduction to Europe by Christopher Columbus. In Hawaii, the pineapple also represents happiness and hospitality, embodying the spirit of aloha!
Adding bead caps, bell-shaped flowers, or crystals to the top of your pineapple bead bodies can beautifully mimic the pineapple's leaves, enhancing their tropical charm. Top with a bead cap stack for the perfect island-inspired treat.

About the Maker
About the Maker
Calvin Orr has been crafting exquisite handmade glass beads for over 30 years, each piece a unique creation made in Hawaii. His beads are crafted using the lampwork technique, where a torch and flame are used to shape and form the glass. This spontaneous process results in one-of-a-kind beads that capture the essence of artistic freedom and creativity. I've known Calvin since I was 26, and his newest creations continue to surprise me. A true artisan, Calvin draws inspiration from everything around him, focusing on creating and experimenting.
How we met our Bead-Dad
My mom and I met Calvin at a bead show in San Francisco in 1997. They fell in love, he moved to Hawaii, and they've been together as long as our bead store has existed! I'm delighted to share his beads with the world. Fortunately, I have access to his stash after Sunday dinners, allowing me to feature them here. Please enjoy these handcrafted treasures, perfect for those seeking unique, artisan-made glass beads.
