These Koa Honu Wood Charms bring together the charm of Koa wood, and represent wisdom, longevity, and perseverance. Made from sustainably sourced Koa wood, these charms are lightweight, yet they capture the natural beauty and strength of Hawaii.

Honu, or Hawaiian green sea turtle, holds a special place in Hawaiian culture and mythology. In Hawaiian tradition, the honu is revered as a sacred creature and is often considered a guardian spirit, or 'aumakua. These turtles symbolize longevity, safety, and Mana (spiritual energy). They are believed to bring good luck and peace and are seen as navigators that can guide souls between the physical and spiritual worlds.

The honu is also an emblem of patience and wisdom. Its gentle nature and long lifespan, which can extend over several decades, are seen as embodyive of these qualities. In addition, the honu's ability to navigate vast distances across the ocean highlights themes of guidance, endurance, and the importance of finding one's way in life.

About the Artist

Manny is located on the Big Island of Hawaii and all of his pieces are personally created by him on the Island. He has been around woodworking for the last 20 years of his life.  Inspired by his grandfather who would always be in his shop making crafts to sell at the market, he would help him occasionally with sanding wood. Manny's father eventually learned the craft from the grandfather, and Manny is now perpetuating the craft for his ohana.
